JOBS with 3rd Lymm
Fundraiser
Do you have a bubbly personality?
Can you organise fun events?
We are looking for a fundraiser to help us reach out goal for the funding of our new HQ.
We envisage that you will be someone who enjoys organising events that will deliver something that is valued by the customer and revenue for the Group.
Initially we are looking for £20k for the building fund plus another £5k-£10k for the running of the group so a couple of Jumble Sales is unlikely to do the trick. We envisage a large even or events along the lines of Sportsman’s Dinner, Fashion Show, Concert or something like that. We are open to suggestions.
But we are not looking for a volunteer. In these days of rising cost of living we recognise that making ends meet is increasingly difficult so we are prepared to offer remuneration based on results. Full time or part time is up to you – we are only interested in results.
It may well be that you wish only to organise one event and not take on the target of the full £25K. That’s fine by us we can cope with a number of people working on different projects.

Leaders, Assistants and Helpers
Are you right?
We are looking for honest honourable people who want to help build a better community and have some great fun doing it.
You don’t have to have been a Scout or Guide before, you don’t have to be an outdoor type, you don’t have to have a special skill and even if you cannot give a lot of time or can only help occasionally, you would be welcome.
Every little bit of assistance is useful.
Frightened about being sued?
Don’t be frightened off by stories about “Health and Safety” legislation or of being sued by litigious parents. It only happens when people have been monumentally stupid and we have systems in place to ensure these things don’t happen to us. Even if we come across an awkward parent, which we never have, we have the strength of the Scout Association behind us and we have at this game for over 100 years now.
You would be working alongside some pretty good people to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
(from the Aim of the Scout Movement)
The Scout movement is Non-political and religiously Non-denominational.
But it’s not a one way street.
What can being a Leader, Assistant or Helper mean for you?
Well!
It is a lot of fun (assuming you have a sense of humour)
You learn some really interesting things
You get to do some really exciting activities
You get to know some really amazing people
You get to do some silly things without raising eyebrows
You get a buzz from being involved in improving your community
But you also get a lot of valuable training and experience that help you develop
Leadership skills,
self reliance
organisational skills
and you get the chance to practice them in a “safe” environment before you try them in your work place and, yes, the skills you learn in Scouting also work there.
Good employers see involvement is Scouting as a positive thing so it enhances your CV.
Being a volunteer position you don’t get paid but the non-monetary payback is immense and, depending on conditions, you could get assistance with expenses.
